Canada Knowledge Academy online learning started when the pandemic started, on March 2020. We encountered a variety of obstacles, dealing with online technology and distance learning. With the team work of administrators, teachers, students and parents we were able to continue fulfilling our mission of providing quality education along with Islamic values.
Our administration, as always, seeks every opportunity to provide a variety of learning tools. This year our students benefited enormously from completing online tasks, working on IXL (English and Math), reading at Raz-Kids and joining the Typing Club.
Our teachers, our lanterns, strive to scaffold our students with learning and moral tools. Tools that will guide them to become autonomous learners, successful citizens and future leaders.
Our students did a wonderful job adapting to the new learning environment, actually most excelled! They missed being in-person in the classroom, in the gym, in the library, in the school yard and with friends. However, they persisted and worked hard! They were focused and interactive with all class activities. They learned online navigation skills, they watched interactive videos, they completed worksheets, and they practiced typing.
Our parents, with so much generosity, patience and care stretched their hands to support our school and the success of our students.
I believe that this year was not only a successful remote learning experience, but also a family-like environment, teaching our students at their homes!
Finally, I would like to thank all the team; administrators, teachers, students and parents for all their effort and contributions.
